Materials Transactions was launched in 1960 as Transactions of the Japan Institute of Metals. The title was changed in 2000 to Materials Transactions, when the journal became a collaborative publication with other institutes in the field of materials science. Today, Materials Transactions is an English academic journal which is collaboratively published by twelve institutes in the field of materials science.
