Types of membership

Admission Fee Annual Membership Fee
January to December
Excluded from taxation (tax free)
Regular Member (individual)

An individual who agrees with the purpose of the MMIJ and becomes a member
※Individual membership cannot be transferred.
※If mailing address of the journal is overseas, international shipping charge (1,200 yen/year) will be added to the admission fee and the annual fee listed on the right.

[Lifetime Member]
A person who pays membership fees in full as a “Regular Member” for 45 years shall be exempted from paying subsequent membership fees.
[Honorary Member]
A person who has made a distinguished contribution to the administration of the MMIJ for many years or to the promotion or advancement of academic fields or industries related to mining and materials processing through the activities of the MMIJ shall be given the title of Honorary Member, with the recommendation of the Council and upon resolution of the General Assembly.
Student Member (Individual) A student or a graduate student of a university or an equivalent school who agrees with the purpose of the MMIJ and becomes a member.

※A doctor in employment is requested to apply as a “Regular Member.”

Supporting Member (Corporate)

A corporation or an organization which becomes a member in order to support the business of the MMIJ

(The list of Supporting Members as of January 31, 2020)

※Contact person can be changed.

50,000 yen/unit

※The MMIJ’s fiscal year is from January to December of each year. Members are requested to prepay their membership fee for one year.

※Admission of a Regular Member or a Student Member requires the recommendation of one Regular Member of the MMIJ. Please consult with our Secretariat (info@mmij.or.jp) if you do not have a recommender.

※Admission of a Student Member requires a copy of a document certifying enrollment in school such as a student identification card or a student registration certificate. (An image file or a PDF file with the admission application form.)

Procedures for admission application

Click on the URL in the return e-mail sent from the MMIJ to complete the formal registration. After confirming the invoice sent from the MMIJ, please remit the admission fee and membership fee within two weeks.

Transfer destination account for the payment of membership fees

After admission application and payment of membership fee is confirmed, you will receive an e-mail notifying your membership number (login ID for the Member’s My Page).

The admission application procedures for Supporting Members shall be done in writing.
Please download the Admission Application Form provided below, enter information, and return the form to the Secretariat of the MMIJ at <info@mmij.or.jp>.
